Baranti and Punchet

Baranti

Baranti is a man made irrigation lake in the Purulia district at the edge of West Bengal. It is under the Ramchandrapur Irrigation Scheme. It is a nice place to spent some time in Nature’s Serenity. The place is quiet and beautiful. I reach there by my car around 11am with one of my friends. There are plenty of tourist lodges. We had our breakfast at one of those lodges. They have a viewing tower to checkout the lake. We climb up there to get a glimps. We got a nice view of the Baranti lake and the Muraddi Hill. Actually Muraddi Hill it prominently visible from every where around the Baranti Lake.

After the viewing tower, we started strolling around the banks of the lake.

Panchet

As there was nothing much to see (although it is a fantastic place), we decided to go to Panchet dam. Punchet is dam located in Jharkhand. It is HyDel Power plant with a maximum capacity of 80MW. The reservoir the massive. The view is pretty good.
